GRASS Greener goalkeeper Duane Forrester was the hero of a thrilling Bradford & District FA Sunday Senior Cup tie against Toller.

The teams were deadlocked at 4-4 after 90 minutes and there were no further goals in the additional 30 minutes before Forrester saved two spot-kicks in the shoot-out as Grass Greener edged it 4-3.

Their goal-scorers in the 90 minutes were Lee Mathers (2), Rob Coulter and Ben Crawley, with Kamran Khan netting all four in reply.

Holders West Bowling gave further evidence that they have recovered from their bad start to the Bradford Sunday Alliance League season.

They defeated Division One outfit Cuedos Rangers 7-0 at Emsley's Rec in what was an excellent performance.

Andy Gallagher and Damian Melvin both netted twice for the Premier Division side in the second-round tie, with Aidan Day, Andrew Bailey and 16-year-old Joe Wood – nephew of prolific marksman Chris – also scoring.

Thornton United had a 6-1 victory over fellow Premier team George Hotel, with man of the match Dan Cunningham and Dave Wilson (2) among the scorers.

Premier Division side Buttershaw Celtic hit Wrose Albion for three first-half goals, with Jamie Brennan, Dan O'Donnell and Gary Stoyles on target, and should have added to their tally after the interval but missed a host of chances.

Fairweather Green enjoyed a landslide victory over Eccleshill Punjab in the Bradford & District FA Sunday Cup.

The main scorers in a 20-0 scoreline were Steve Czyzewski (6), Karl Ratcliffe (5), Damian Slingsby (4) and Paul Bland (3).

Eccleshill Sunday scored half that many in a 10-1 thrashing of Bankfoot Lions, with Matthew Hannan getting a hat-trick and Matthew Holmes and Andy Holmes braces, while Michael Andrews and Daniel Patefield also netted.

Holders Salthorn WMC also started confidently, defeating YMCC 6-1, but Eccleshill WMC ended visitors Gallopers' 100 per cent record by beating them 3-1.

The clubmen got off the mark after a superb Gareth Taylor pass was converted by Andy Corker, only for an own goal by Sam Thom to level matters on the stroke of half-time.

New signing Kristaps Balodis struck a superb 25-yard free-kick to edge Eccleshill into the lead early in the second half, before man of the match Corker then converted a penalty to put the clubmen out of sight.

There were also some league matches, Sandy Lane and Napoleons Casino sharing four goals in the only Premier Division clash. Stuart Cotterell and Danny Hook scored for hosts Lane, with Marcus Edwards and Andrew Philip replying.

Top two White Eagles and Oakenshaw met in Division One, with visitors Eagles winning 3-1 in a game that was spoiled by a late flurry of red cards.

They thus returned to the top but scored against the run of play with the first of what turned out to be Danny Facey's hat-trick.

Oakenshaw responded with a well-finished equaliser and could have taken a lead from a corner when a header was tipped over the bar.

But the Eagles switched to 4-3-3 for the second half and the flow went with them despite magnificent Oakenshaw defending, exemplified by a superb double block on the six-yard line by Danny Brown.
