PEEL Park are continuing their chase of Premier Division leaders Stanningley Albion in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League.

But Park had to come from 2-1 down against Thornton United to preserve their 100 per cent record.

Adam Turner finished off a great team move to put Peel ahead in the fifth minute, only for Kurt Pendlebury and Dan Cunningham to give United the advantage.

Peel restored their lead via Turner and Sean Jack and, in the second half, Turner scored two more, including an acrobatic volley.

Visitors Thornton threw everything at Park, netting another, but went down 5-3.

Meanwhile Albion, who have played a game more than Peel Park, defeated Buttershaw Celtic 3-1.

West Bowling won their first match of the season 6-2 over George Hotel to move away from the top-flight depths.

Strikes by Bowling's Damien Melvyn and Jordan Haggard were cancelled out by a Ryan Templeton brace for the visitors in the first half .

But Bowling took charge after the interval thanks to a superb Joe Brooksbank hat-trick and a strike by Aidan Day.

White Eagles head Division One with four wins from four but, as per usual, they far from had things their own way.

Red Lion, who were playing downhill and downwind, took the lead by capitalising on defensive slackness.

But as soon as the teams changed ends, Jamie Bairstow immediately went close before equalising from the subsequent corner.

Arran Metcalfe's delightful finish put the Eagles 2-1 ahead and, although Red Lion deservedly made it 2-2, Metcalfe's second goal proved decisive.

In Division 1B, Toller were involved in another thriller, winning 4-3 against Beldon Sports. The decisive goals came from captain Kamran Khan (2), Shoaib Mohammed and Haseeb Reh.

There was no close shave for Eccleshill WMC in Division 2B, however, Josh Jalali getting a nap hand as Heaton Athletic were thrashed 9-2.

Gareth Taylor set the ball rolling with a 30-yarder before Jalali bagged a first-half hat-trick.

He scored twice more in the second half, Shummell Uddin also adding two before Andy Corker completed the scoring.

In contrast, Shaun Coe's late brace was all that separated winners Prospect from visitors Aire Athletic.
