All three of last night’s games featuring the area’s semi-pro sides were postponed as the wet and wintry weather caused problems across the country.
Campion were due to host Brigg Town in Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One, but that fixture was the first to fall.
The black and reds# pitch at Manningham Mills Sports Association on Scotchman Road failed a lunch-time inspection as it was frozen.
In the top tier, Albion Sports also had a scheduled home game as they were set to face Clipstone in the Premier Division.
The Albion Lions play their home games at Farsley Celtic’s Throstle Nest ground, but that pitch was found to be waterlogged at a late-afternoon inspection.
Liversedge should have travelled to Staveley Miners' Welfare for a match that was originally scheduled for Saturday January 3, but that date, like last night, was also subjected to a postponement.
The Trojans posted an apology to their supporters and to Sedge, saying: “Sorry but a part of the pitch frozen and now saturated areas mean that the game against Liversedge is postponed."
Sedge responded by posting a thank you to Staveley for the early decision – the communication was received just before 1pm.
The Spen club also highlighted their plight after suffering seven postponements since the turn of the year, only two of which have been at Clayborn.
“It looks like if we have just one more re-arranged game then we’ll be playing Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday at some point.”
New dates for all of last night’s games have been arranged.
Campion will now host Brigg Town on Wednesday, March 28, Albion will welcome Clipstone on Wednesday, February 28, and Sedge should travel to Staveley on Wednesday, April 18.
