MOST of the area’s lower tier non-league clubs face clashes against Northern League outfits in the first qualifying round of the Buildbase FA Vase.

Silsden, Eccleshill United, Albion Sports and Campion – in their first tie in a national competition – all face ties against clubs from the North East.

Campion were new to the football pyramid last season so were not eligible for the FA Cup or the Vase.

They didn’t finish high enough up the non-league ladder to qualify for the FA Cup this season but they are automatically in the FA Vase.

And the Manningham outfit have been fortunate as they landed home advantage.

James Bicknell’s men host Bedlington Terriers who are a long-established club who have done well in cup competitions.

However, they have had a poor start to this season and are currently 19th in the Northern League Division Two, the same step as Campion who are third in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One.

Eccleshil United host a side from a step above as Jarrow Roofing Bolden CA, from the Northern League Division One make the journey south.

The Eagles have enjoyed a better start to the new season as they are 11th in their division while Jarrow have taken just five points from a possible 18.

Silsden’s one hundred percent start to the season will be tested as Danny Forrest’s side head into the north east to take on Chester-le-Street Town.

The Cobbydalers top the Hallmark Security League Division One after seven wins from seven starts while the Durham based hosts are averaging less than a point per game in their league.

Albion Sports are also heading up the A1 as they journey to Seaham Red Star.

Thackley and Liversedge both travel over the Pennines to play Hallmark Security League clubs Padiham and Prestwich Heys respectively.
