FARSLEY Celtic have their sights set on second place by Saturday tea-time as their hunt for the title in Division One North of the Evo-Stik League remains on track after a midweek away win.

However, the big games keep on coming for January’s club of the month.

The Celts bounced back from a stoppage-time defeat at leaders Lancaster City last Saturday with a 4-1 win at Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday.

The Seadogs were fifth, immediately below Farsley in the table, and Saturday's visitors to Throstle Nest are Glossop North End, who replaced Scarborough in the last play-off place.

The Celts are only two points off second spot as they go into this weekend's round of fixtures.

They still trail Lancaster by nine points but, crucially, have three games in hand.

Brighouse Town were frustrated by a midweek postponement, so they remain in ninth place but are only three points outside the play-off places.

They travel to mid-table Ramsbottom United looking for back-to-back wins after last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Prescot Cables ended a three- match winless streak.

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East League's top tier, Thackley head to Harrogate Railway Athletic.

The Dennyboys need a maximum against a Rail side rebuilding following relegation from the Evo-Stik League.

Chris Reape’s men are fourth, but there is a four-point gap between them and the top three after they were held to a 2-2 draw at Albion Sports last weekend.

Kulwinder Sandhu’s Albion travel to lower mid-table outfit Maltby Main.

Sixth-placed Albion are one point better off than Liversedge, who are expected to gain another three points as they host second-from-bottom Retford United.

Campion slipped to eighth in Division One following a 4-0 defeat at Hallam last time out but they will hope to bounce back on Saturday.

James Bicknell’s men host Westella & Willerby, who are just one place off the foot of the table.

Silsden got back to winning ways last weekend after four defeats on the spin, and they will be looking to avenge one of their worst defeats of the season in Division One of the Hallmark Security League.

The Cobbydalers face St Helens Town, who won 4-1 at Keighley Road in November.

Town are still working on returning home, but for the moment they continue their nomadic existence and the game will be played at Ashton Town’s ground.
