ALBION Sports are a multi-cultural football club who have always offered opportunities to all youngsters from Bradford and have developed some fine players down the years.

However, with their humble beginnings and determination from the Asian community being their backbone, assistant manager Pav Singh would now like to see the club honoured at a big gala night.

Singh is one of the highest-qualified football coaches in the country from an Asian background and the first to achieve the UEFA A licence.

He now works for the Football Association at St George's Park and recently picked up the coach of the year honour at the third annual Asian Football Awards at Wembley on a glittering evening.

"It was a great night but I'd love to see Albion Sports at the Asian Awards one day," said Singh.

"When I was getting the award this year, I couldn't help thinking that it would be good if Albion had been nominated for one of the awards and were there.

"They give club awards as well as individuals and Sporting Khalsa (from the West Midlands) were there, among others, this year. They did really well in the FA Cup and raised their profile and have been running a really great club for years now.

"It got me thinking that Albion have achieved a lot for a small club and are still growing and striving.

"We have come from a Sunday League side to the West Riding County Amateur champions and then onto the non-League ladder and gained a promotion.

"When I was at the awards this year, I heard a lot of inspiring things about these clubs around the country and I thought it sounded just like Albion.

"I just wish the great people that work at our club could be recognised in that way."
