PAV Singh this week confirmed that his heart has always been with Albion Sports – even last season when his work with the Football Association meant at times he could not be there in person.

Singh, the highest-qualified Asian coach in English football, was working part-time for the FA last year and running courses.

Now he has a full-time role based at St George's Park, so he has evenings and weekends free to spend helping Albion boss Kulwinder Sandhu run the club.

"I'm still here and I always have been involved with Albion Sports and will be as long as they want me," said Singh.

"I couldn't always fit it in because of my work – but even then I was always on the other end of the phone. I've picked up some great tips and experience from Kully and I love this club."

Singh added: "I'm a full-time FA coach developer now and my day is coaching coaches and tutors. Leicester and Rutland are my patch but I do sometimes get sent up to the West Riding FA, so I get around.

"That allows me to get back and support Kully as first-team coach. I'm more like an assistant manager really and Assad (Qureshi) is with us coaching, so Kully is getting enough help on the football side of things.

"Assad is from Halifax and he has been good for us as he's brought in a few players from that area that we wouldn't have known about otherwise.

"He actually came to watch one day because he's a coach I'd been mentoring and I managed to get him on board.

"My job with the FA is my priority but I love the game and I'm glad to be back in the day-to-day environment of club football. I'm a football man and I love to be involved.

"Kully is chuffed to have me and Assad alongside him but he is still looking for a kitman. You need a lot of people to run a club effectively at this level."
