ALBION SPORTS had enjoyed back-to-back Toolstation Northern Counties East League victories before suffering a defeat at Pickering Town in midweek in which they had skipper James Firth sent off.

The centre back received a straight red card following an off-the-ball incident as under-strength Albion lost the Premier Division clash by the odd goal.

Yet they remain the highest-placed of the three local clubs in the section in fifth and manager Kulwinder Sandhu will be hoping to have Alex Cusack, Brice Tiani and Aaron Basi in contention when they host Clipstone tomorrow.

LIVERSEDGE are also at home and looking to bounce back from a midweek loss as they prepare for the visit of basement outfit Brigg Town.

Brigg were frustrated by a postponement on Wednesday, when a floodlight failure robbed them of a chance to lift themselves off the foot of the table in a home game against third-bottom Athersley Recreation.

THACKLEY are currently second from bottom and travel to Maltby Main, who are four places above them.

The Dennyboys feel they are in a false position as they have played fewer games than any club in the bottom half – apart from Maltby.

In Division One, ECCLESHILL UNITED have a chance to put Wednesday's 3-0 away defeat to bed and make ground on visitors Selby Town, who are in the top half.

Selby have had a hit and miss start with five wins, as many defeats and one draw from their 11 league fixtures.

The Eagles have played two games fewer but are six points worse off. However, their home form has been good and nine of the ten points they have banked this term have been earned at the Mitton Group Stadium.

SILSDEN travel to Cammell Laird 1907 in the North West Counties League, looking to overhaul their hosts.

The 11th-placed Lairds are in the top half of the Premier Division table but are just one point better off than the 15th-placed Cobbydalers in a congested mid-table.

Silsden will still be buoyant after Tuesday night's 3-1 home win over long-term rivals Barnoldswick Town, when Chris Wademan, Kev Ryan and Lee Guilfoyle were on target.
