ALBION Sports go in search of the home win that would that would push them through the 40-point barrier in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division when they host Parkgate on Saturday.

Kulwinder Sandhu’s men had to take the lead three times before winning 3-2 at Pickering Town but that victory finally put the shock defeat at lowly Liversedge behind them.

Sandhu said: “It was a close game up to half-time but it was a different Albion that came out in the second half.

“We were up for it and we got what we deserved, which was difficult against a very good Pickering side.

“We hadn’t played since Sedge but it just shows what an unpredictable game football is. We bounced back to win a tough game.”

Liversedge, who drew 1-1 at Parkgate last Saturday, host Retford United.

They will be hoping for their second win of the year when they face the relegation strugglers.

The visitors are having problems on and off the pitch and, in the precarious position of third from bottom, they are still battling the drop.

They are currently three points clear of the trapdoor with a game in hand. A vastly superior goal difference could also be a significant advantage in the relegation struggle.

Thackley have enjoyed back-to-back wins but face the daunting task of a trip to leaders Tadcaster Albion.

Eccleshill United will not be able to use last week’s draw at Winterton Rangers in Division One as a springboard because they have no fixture this weekend.

In the North West Counties League Premier Division, tenth-placed Silsden travel to the west coast to take on AFC Blackpool.

The Cobbydalers could jump as high as sixth with a win, and they have games in hand on seven of the nine clubs above them, while Blackpool are fourth from bottom.
