ALBION Sports improved their standing as the highest placed of the area's three clubs in the Northern Counties East League with a midweek win.

But Kulwinder Sandhu's men will face the sternest of tests tomorrow as they travel to face runaway leaders Tadcaster Albion.

Sports' 3-1 midweek Premier Division victory lifted them up to seventh and was their third on the trot – but they will be coming up against a side who are not only top but on top form.

'Taddy' have scored 17 times in their last two games as they followed last Saturday's 7-0 win at Liversedge with a 10-0 midweek victory at Armthorpe Welfare.

But Sandhu has got his players primed and a maximum against the side nine points clear would see Sports through the 30-point barrier.

Liversedge will be hoping to get last weekend's hammering out of their systems but it will be difficult as they host fifth-placed Staveley MW.

Sedge are 14th while their visitors sit on the coat tails of the leading pack, only being outside the top four on goal difference.

Thackley need at least a draw from their trip to Retford United to stay above their hosts in the table. The 16th-placed Dennyboys are two positions above them but are only two points better off and have played two games more.

In the lower tier, Eccleshill United prepare for the visit of Hemsworth MW with a bit of angst.

The Eagles could have been above their fourth-placed visitors had they beaten mid-table Bottesford Town in midweek but suffered a shock 3-1 home defeat.
