Tadcaster Albion consolidated their runners-up place in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division with a 4-0 win at Liversedge on the final day of the campaign.

Taddy had set the pace for a long time but ended up four points adrift of Brighouse.

Albion Sports claimed sixth spot and a place in next season’s President’s Cup following a 5-2 home win against the club that came up with them last year from Division One.

Karl Hall grabbed himself a hat-trick against Athersley Recreation but it was Alex Cusack who broke the deadlock, with Danny Facey adding a terrific solo goal.

Thackley finished a disappointing 13th but gained a point from their last game thanks to a 2-2 draw at Parkgate. Mike Garrod gave the Dennyboys a 23rd-minute lead but the home side hit back though Scott Whittington from the restart.

Parkgate’s Scott Lowe put the home side in front with a free-kick but Chris Davey levelled soon after from the penalty spot after Garrod had been fouled.

Eccleshill United ensured fourth place in Division One – and an FA Cup spot next season that goes with it – following a 2-0 home win against Hall Road Rangers, thanks to goals from Connor Shefte and Aaron Sanchez.

The Eagles’ season isn’t over just yet though. After winning the West Riding County Cup they could add the NCE League Cup to their trophy haul this Saturday.

In the North West Counties top tier, Silsden ran out 2-0 winners at home to West Didsbury & Chorlton, Tom Sowerbutts and Josh McNulty on target in the second half. But for Farsley it was a disappointing end to a promising campaign.

After vying for a play-off place right into the last month of the season, they finished seventh, five points outside, after taking just one point from their last two games. Neil Parsley’s men lost 1-0 at Mossley on the final day.
