Sheen shines to keep Horse at the summit


Gary Sheen scored a double to help Black Horse beat George Healey 3-2, a win which kept them top of the SPEN VALLEY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION.

Matthew Smith bagged their other before two goals from Carl McCann gave the result a much closer look.

Savile Youth are in second spot after brushing aside Queensbury 5-0 with goals from Imran Patel (2), Huzifa Adam (2) and Hazi.

Kemble Rangers were undone 3-1 at home to Bosnia as Haris Herak took the plaudits with a hat-trick.

Howden Clough thrashed Dewsbury Old Stars 11-3 as Joe Kensik (5), Gerrard Burke (2), J Armitage (2), Stainslaw Geikins and Danny Logon joined in the goal spree. Chris Peel was outstanding and won man of the match.

Jardys won the big DIVISION ONE clash at home to Bradford 2-1 thanks to goals from Ricky Lister and Jonny Beverley. Ofaq Hussain netted for the visitors, who were reduced to ten men.

Marsh moved into second spot with a 6-0 win at Black Bull. John Milner (4), Laz Balmforth and Marc Harrison got the goals and further chances went begging.

In the SPEN VALLEY TROPHY preliminary round, Youth 2000 dumped Norfolk out 5-0, with Navsarka (3), Waqaz Rehman and Moosa Raja finding the scoresheet.

Inter Batley beat Wellington 2-1 in the SONDER HEATING CUP preliminary round thanks to goals from Bilal Shah and Nausarka. Dave Martin found the target for Wellington.
