Maltby Main 6, Eccleshill United 3
The Eagles scored three away from home but are still looking for their first point of the season after shipping in half a dozen for the second game in succession.
Reeling from a 6-0 thumping at Parkgate on Bank Holiday Monday, the Eagles were hit for six at Maltby.
The home side were 4-1 up by the break and Chris Wood’s hat-trick for United was merely a statistic.
Matt Wragg put Maltby in front and a quick-fire double from Scott Somerville midway through the half put them in control.
Wood fired in his first just before the half-hour but Wragg added his second on the stroke of half-time.
Greg Mason added the home side’s fifth after the break before Wood struck his second and third. Simon Hickey ended the scoring two minutes from time.
