Leeds boss faced with Beckford poser
Gary McAllister is facing a dilemma over striker Jermaine Beckford.
The Leeds boss must decide whether or not to recall his leading scorer, who has missed the last three games with an ankle injury, for the final match of the season against Gillingham.
McAllister knows it is a gamble to risk Beckford in what is a fairly meaningless match unless Leeds get the 15 points back from the arbitration tribunal.
On the other hand, it would be good for the striker to get some match
fitness before being plunged into the play-off semi-finals.
Despite a season in which they have made history by overcoming a points deduction and still made the play-offs, Leeds players have clearly not impressed their fellow professionals.
Beckford is the only United name in the Division One team of the season.
Meanwhile, Leeds have finalised details of their pre-season tour to Ireland. They start an eight-day trip against Galway United on Wednesday, July 16. Four days later, they are in Dublin to take on Bray Wanderers and they finish up with their traditional match against Shelbourne on Thursday, July 24.
