Simon Grayson sacked by Leeds United

Simon Grayson Simon Grayson

Simon Grayson was this afternoon sacked as Leeds United manager.

The axe fell on his three-year reign following last night's 4-1 loss to Birmingham at Elland Road.

Chief executive Shaun Harvey said: "We have 18 games to go this season and are still within touching distance of the play-offs, but felt with the transfer window now closed we needed to make the change at this time in the belief that a new managerial team will be able to get more out of the existing squad of players and make the difference."

Former Bantam Neil Redfearn, the current Leeds youth team boss, has been put in temporary charge until a replacement is appointed.

You are the only bozo on here. You know nothing about football, management or anything else so why not go and support the next Leeds manager instead; they obviously know nothing about it either.

PP is manager of month for December and for good reason. Unbeaten in six home games and getting more right than he is getting wrong but muppets like you think we should sack any manager after any disappointing result. You are the weakest link; goodbye!

How ridiculous a decision is that! Who do they (Harvey and Bates) suppose has got Leeds to 'within touching distance of the play-offs'? It will serve them right if they 'do a Notts Forest' after they decided to sack a very capable Billy Davis.
.
As well as Grayson getting Leeds promoted to the Championship, only missing out on the play-offs by 3 points in their 1st season there he had his Team putting great performances against the likes of Liverpool, Man U, Spurs and Arsenal over the past two years.

Ken Bates may have 'saved' Leeds Utd a few years ago, but I would be very suspicious of his 'motives' AND his 'modus operandi' for (amongst other things) dealing with managers at clubs HE chairs.

Wasn't it also HIS way of business dealing that got Leeds into trouble in recent years. Yet it was the club, that was penalised!!

Future managers...take note!!

Bah Bah, funny I've never encountered you before!

Parkinson's a fool; bates will hopefully run that club in to the ground but chances are he'll get them promoted.

Why wasn't Colin Cooper persisted with ?, we lost a vital member of the set-up after he was shafted by porky Lawn.

As pointed out by another poster, there are so many areas of Leeds that are worse than any area in Bradford. Trying spending some time wandering around Chapeltown and then tell me Bradford is a dump. Holbeck, Beeston and Hunslet are not exactly my idea of heaven either. Every City has it's problems but to call yourself Mr BD and then slag off the City says more about you than it does about Bradford. Loyalty and Identity are clearly not in your vocabulary. Besides, it is the fans of Leeds United that are the problem and not the City itself. Fans that pride themselves on racism, bigotry and violence and who THINK they are a big club...dream on.
