FORMER Leeds goalkeeper Gary Sprake has died at the age of 71, the Sky Bet Championship club have announced.
Swansea-born Sprake made over 500 appearances for the club and helped them win the First Division title in 1969.
He also won a Second Division winners' medal, a League Cup and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups during his 11-year stint at Elland Road.
Sprake, who also won 37 caps for Wales, left Leeds in 1973 and played for a short period at Birmingham.
Leeds will hold a minute's applause ahead of Tuesday's EFL game against Norwich City.
The club said in a statement: "It is with immense sadness that today, Leeds United Football Club learnt of the passing of former goalkeeper Gary Sprake at the age of 71.
"All the players, management and staff at Leeds United sends its condolences and support to the Sprake family at this difficult time."
