LEEDS skipper Sol Bamba will not be rushed back to face Charlton tomorrow.

Boss Steve Evans has been advised by medical staff that the trip to the Valley might come too soon for the defender, who has been recovering from a fractured toe.

Evans, who is likely to stick with Liam Cooper alongside Giuseppe Bellusci at centre half, said: “Sol is back in training but I think the medical staff are almost intimidating to me that it might be two days early. It would be different if the game was Monday.

“I’m always guided by the medical staff and I am never one to overrule them. But I want Sol Bamba out there as quickly as I can.

“We’ll give him every opportunity but if the big man doesn’t make it, then he’s fully and wholly available for Wolves for selection.”

Full back Gaetano Berardi is back from a two-game ban and Evans felt his return is “like a new signing”. But he also warned the Swiss he might not displace Scott Wootton.

Evans added: “The respect he has in the dressing room is huge and that’s because he is a real competitor.

“He’s got that real pride about his performances and he’s very much like a new signing to the group.

“I know that sounds silly after a couple of games but it’s like a new signing when you come off the back of a win against Hull. But there are no definites that anyone will start.”
