Wolves 4 Leeds United 3

Neil Redfearn admitted he will be seeking clarification about his own position over the next month after Leeds lost to a late goal in a seven-goal thriller at Molineux today.

A last-gasp strike from Dave Edwards earned Wolves victory after they had earlier thrown away a two-goal advantage.

Charlie Taylor had given Leeds a shock 11th-minute lead before a double from Nouha Dicko and a 29th goal of the season from Benik Afobe seemingly put Wolves on course for a straightforward fourth successive win.

But a Danny Batth own goal and a sublime strike from Alex Mowatt drew Leeds level before Edwards saved Wolves with an 88th minute header.

Defeat rounded off a dismal Easter for Leeds head coach Redfearn, who saw his assistant Steve Thompson suspended last week before watching his side lose to Blackburn on Saturday and now Wolves today.

He said: "My position has got to be resolved one way or another legally, I think, before the Rotherham game (Leeds' last match of the season).

"They have to tell me either way whether they will take up the option of a second year.

"We will have to cross that bridge when we come to it, but I am not here to pass judgement. I want to do the best thing for this football club, like Steve Thompson did when he was here and like the players want to do, and we want to make sure the club is on a good footing.

"You can see that the players and the supporters are with us and it just needs a fighting chance. This great club is starting to get back to its feet and it needs the same chance as the other 91 clubs.

"I think if it gets a fair chance we can get it going. It has got to be that we do get that chance.

"I have concentrated on the last two games and it has not been about me. It is about the club and what is best for Leeds United.

"There are five games to go and it important to finish well.

"We are in a good position from where we were, two points from the bottom of the league.

"We can kick on and get some momentum to take into next season but at this moment in time it is wrong just to think about me. The club is far more important."

Wolves manager Kenny Jackett is relishing the pressure of chasing promotion after seeing his side climb into the play-off places.

He said: "Winning keeps us and puts us around some very good teams at the top part of the Championship which I think is an excellent standard and very competitive.

"For us now, the big thing is that our season is in front of us and with five games to go we are pleased to say that. We have got some big games coming up.

"We are delighted to be in there and we have worked hard to be as competitive as we are and we have to look forward.

"It is great that our season is ahead of us. It is tight between a number of teams. They all have a chance and I am pleased to say that we are one of them.

"To win four games in a row is terrific form and long may it continue. We have to keep pushing and get as many points as possible."

Jackett acknowledged his side made hard work of seeing off Leeds, though, and said: "The game swung one way and then the other and I thought we played very well.

"We uncharacteristically gave away some poor goals and that probably didn't reflect the flow of the game.

"Overall I was pleased with my side. At 3-3 you are looking at your players and wondering which way they are going to go. We pushed on, we put pressure on and Dave Edwards came up with a cracking header. It was a really good goal."
