STEVE Evans has hailed Leeds as the giant of Yorkshire football ahead of their derby trip to Rotherham tonight.

The outspoken Millers boss believes the sell-out clash at the New York Stadium will be his biggest game in league management.

He said: “People can talk about the size of clubs in Yorkshire but there is only one giant.

“When you consider their history, that’s Leeds United. I’ve maintained that since even before I came into South Yorkshire to work.

“We’re looking forward to Leeds coming. After Blackburn, it will be another English champion.”

Leeds currently sit three points ahead of Rotherham but Evans said: “Our performances say we should have six, seven, maybe eight points more.”

Italian defender Giuseppe Bellusci reckons that joining Leeds was the “best choice” of his life.

The 25-year-old initially joined on loan from Catania two months ago before signing a four-year deal.

He said: “When my agent proposed the transfer to me in the summer, there was a spark – the best choice of my life.

“On the field I found a game based on dynamism and aggression, my own characteristics. I have never felt so at ease on an English field.”

There will be no reunion for former Leeds hitman Luciano Becchio in front of the Sky cameras.

The striker faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after fracturing his heel during a training game a week ago.
