Juniors have Vision to land trophy haul

Quality not quantity has proved the watchword this season for Vision Juniors.
The Wyke-based club, who only have small squads, have won seven trophies to add to their ten in the two previous seasons since their formation in 2005-06.
Proud head coach Tibor Szabo said: "To win 17 trophies in three seasons is a fantastic achievement and is a reward for the players' commitment, especially when we only have eight teams with small squads."
Leading the way were the under-tens' A team, who won their title for a third successive season in the Huddersfield RCD Junior League.
They did not concede a goal at home in the league, scored the most and conceded the least in 10G and also lifted the cup for a second time.
Using a pool of eight players, they scored 94 goals and conceded just eight, winning 18 of their 19 matches and drawing the other.
Perhaps taking inspiration from this squad, Vision's B squad won Division 10O, winning all 21 fixtures while scoring 97 goals and conceding eight.
Using seven players plus a rotating substitute from the A team, their campaign was a vast improvement on the fourth place of their debut season in 2006-07.
Matching the under-ten A team in notching a hat-trick of league titles were the under-nine A team, who scored 94 goals and conceded eight in taking the 9G crown.
The squad of seven players won 18 of their 20 league matches, losing two, and again scored the most and conceded the least in their section.
The B team improved from fourth last season to first - as did the under-tens B - on the back of 21 victories from 22 league games in Division 9O, the other being a defeat.
However, they topped the century in goals (113) while letting in only 12 - again the best for and against tallies in the division.
Starting afresh did not prove a handicap for the under-13s in the Garforth Junior League, though. They won all 17 of their games to win Division Three, netting 85 while conceding 18.
Szabo said: "Considering they lost one player at the start of the season to a pro club and another one halfway through the campaign for the same reason, which left them with only 11 players, their results were very good."
The under-12s were similarly handicapped by unavailability and operated with a squad of 12, two of whom were under-11s.
They had a relatively modest record of ten wins and three draws from 18 matches to finish third in Division Three, scoring 49 and letting in 31.
But there is quality among the youngest age group as the under-eights clinched their friendly division by winning 18 of the 20 matches, drawing one and losing one.
They used a pool of seven players for five-a-side matches, scoring 95 and conceding 23, but are hoping to form two sides next season when they move up to seven-a-side.
Vision are hoping to expand in general for 2008-09 and Szabo said: "All abilities are welcome and they will be put into the appropriate squad.
"We hope to form under-seven, under-eight and under-16 teams next season but that means we also need more managers to help run the sides.
"All our existing managers are FA Level One, Two or Four-qualified and all are CRB checked with emergency first aid knowledge."
