Silsden under-12s cruise into Trophy final
Silsden Juniors under-12s A thrashed Second Division opponents Keighley Shamrocks 14-0 in the semi-final of the Liam Daley Trophy.
In the first half, Shammies gave Silsden a good game by not letting them settle, and they restricted Silsden to three goals, from Josh Metcalfe, Dylan Budge and Ryan Narey.
The floodgates opened after the break, with 11 further goals scored by Budge (3), Narey (2), Ben Ramsden (3), Ben Addison, Jack Leach and Josh Holt.
The solid back four of Harry Marshall, Ben Dakin, Josh Brown and man of the match Jack Roberts also had five goal assists between them.
Silsden under-12s B produced their best performance of the year in the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League to deny Grassington 12 wins out of 12 and a "perfect season".
Josh Morton and Jamie Laycock on the right tormented the Grassington defence but it remained 0-0 at half-time.
First blood went to Grassington, but Silsden did not let their heads drop and Sam Smithson's rampaging run down the left wing ended with a pinpoint cross on to George Holmes' head for undoubtedly the goal of the season.
Two minutes later, a huge goal-kick from Matty Bygrave was flicked on by Laycock and the on-rushing Grassington keeper completely missed his kick and the ball rolled into the empty net.
Grassington were unfortunate to hit a post in the last few minutes. Man of the match was Lawrence Wildman.
Silsden Juniors under-13s B had two fixtures at the weekend.
Fellow title-chasers Bolton Woods Corinthians were seen off 8-0 with goals from Sam Conway, Adam Cooper, Kyle Moulson, Jamie England (2), Luke Wilson (2) and Jack Beetham. Paul Robinson was man of the match.
Silsden went to Guiseley expecting to dominate the game as they had done the previous day but they were in for a big shock.
They won an end-to-end game 5-2, with both sides having to work exceptionally hard to break each other's defences.
Wilson and England put Silsden 2-1 up at the break and Wilson then made it 3-1.
A rare fumbling mistake from the home keeper allowed Sam Woodrow to increase the lead before Guiseley hit back following a brilliant passing move. Wilson clinched the points with his hat-trick late on. Ben Lowry was named man of the match.
Bradford Tigers finished their season with a flourish in Division 11B, winning 7-0 at luckless Nab Wood.
The hosts had some early chances but eventually Tigers' passing game took a firm grip and goals followed for man of the match Luke Duckett (2), action man Jordan Kitching (2), cultured James Townend (2) and battling Rosie McDonnell.
Vision Juniors FC won their fourth league title of the season when the under-13s beat Garforth 3-2 to clinch the Garforth League title.
Scorers were Jordan Buch, Jay Wells and Brandon Dexter.
The team have won all 16 matches - the only team in the league to do so.
An understrength Farsley Celtic Colts under-13s won 2-1 at Amaranth.
Ten-man Farsley took the lead when a vicious inswinging corner was deflected past the keeper by an Amaranth defender.
The second half was dominated by Farsley, who had a Harry Stirk shot cleared off the line and a missed penalty before Jack Reed smacked home a second goal.
Amaranth scored a consolation goal with the last kick of the game.
Albion Sports under-11s capped an excellent second-half performance to beat league leaders Farsley Celtic 3-2.
Goals by Ryan Watling and Marcus Harper (2) gave Albion a deserved victory. Akash Ali was solid at the centre of defence for Albion with Hassan Meah controlling the midfield.
Shipley Tigers under-nines became champions of the Keybury League Yellow Division after a hard-fought victory at Horsforth.
The Tigers ran out 2-1 winners, with both goals scored by man of the match Luke Gott.
The Tigers remain unbeaten this season with one match remaining and have scored more than 100 goals.
Bradford Park Avenue under-tens Titans beat Skipton Tigers 6-1. On target for Bradford were Luke Fletcher (2), Bobbie Lea Cowens and Brett Holmes. Connor Rhodes was man of the match.
An outstanding performance from Jack Gilroy was not enough to save Bradford United under-sevens from defeat at Queensbury Celtic.
Two goals late in the game, the second a great effort from a free-kick on the touchline, provided the hosts with a 2-0 Blue Division win.
United under-nines finished their league campaign with a 4-2 victory away to Albion Sports in the Black Division.
Callum Towriss and a Matthew Busfield free-kick gave United a 2-0 lead. Albion fought back in the second half and equalised with two great efforts from their forwards.
United retook the lead again when Billy Raistrick's long throw was headed in by Jack Mongan.
Raistrick then found Nathan Allart with a great pass, who scored his first goal of the season.
Bradford United under-tens fought back to claim a 2-2 draw against Eldwick. Harry Gammon and Krishan Patel were on target and Pemphero Kallinggama was man of the match.
Albion Sports under-tens moved into second place with a great win at Otley Town.
Kristan Gordon hammered home a rebound and minutes later Zain Mushtaq scored with a diving header.
Nadeem Khan rifled home the goal of the match after a flowing move.
Albion Sports under-11s produced a brilliant dispay in going down 3-2 to a strong Eccleshill side, Ryan Singh and Zain Mushtaq on target.
Albion Sports under-nines lost 4-2 to Bradford United.
Kyle Treneery and Jack Stead had fought back to level at 2-2 but United hit two late goals. Tariq Hussain was hugely impressive in Albion's midfield.
A first-half penalty for Zak Critchlow and a 20-yard chip over the keeper by Callum Grainger gave Eldwick a 2-1 win over Keighley. Man of the match went to goalkeeper Ezra Slater.
Idle Juniors romped to a 6-1 win over Howden Clough in the West Riding Girls' League.
Scorers for Idle were Rachel Clegg, Rosie Dawson (2), Zoe Hester, Megan Greenwood and an own goal. Girl of the game was Amelia Andre.
