Kittrick's men need play-offs favours
Guiseley need favours from others to make the UniBond Premier Division play-offs after a midweek defeat at lowly Leek took their fate out of their hands.
Club spokesman Stuart Allen said: "All is not lost but we have to admit that Tuesday's loss was very damaging. That just might have done us for the play-offs.
"But you never give up when it is mathematically still possible. There are two games left, one at home and one away. We are two points behind Eastwood, so if we take six points and they lose one we will finish fifth."
A key player in the scenario will be leading scorer James Hanson, who missed Tuesday's defeat through injury. He is doubtful for Saturday's journey to Worksop but not yet ruled out.
The youthful exuberance of Sean Taylforth, on loan from Bradford, and the vast experience of Lee Crooks - himself a former Bantams and Manchester City midfielder - could also make a difference.
They were the last two signings manager Steve Kittrick brought in as he looked for a strong finish and he has called for his squad to remain level-headed and be professional in their attitude.
The manager will survey his squad before filling in his team-sheet at the last minute because he does not want to make snap decisions. Everyone will be assessed and Kittrick will give them the best preparation for both remaining fixtures.
