Guiseley slip out of play-off zone
Guiseley dropped out of the play-off places in the UniBond Premier Division after being beaten by league leaders Witton Albion, who remain in the only automatic promotion place.
Eastwood Town's 3-2 home victory over Ossett Town meant the Nottingham outfit leapfrogged Guiseley.
It could have been so different because Steve Kittrick's men really tested Witton's resolve.
On-loan Bradford City youngster Sean Taylforth began a rash of early chances for Guiseley. His eighth-minute shot was saved and the Albion keeper had to repeat his agility to deny Aron Wilford twice in the next two minutes.
Another close call saw Lee Crooks shoot wide just before the half-hour and Wilford had another opening in the goalless first half.
The second half began with striker James Hanson seemingly being held down in the area but nothing was given.
Chances for Taylforth and Wilford followed before Witton top-scorer Adam Warlow netted the game's only goal.
Guiseley could climb back into the top five with a victory at Leek Town on Tuesday.
