    Guiseley fans left feeling homesick

    Guiseley 1, Hednesford 1

The long-suffering Nethermoor faithful were left frustrated again as Guiseley threatened to storm to victory but ended up having to settle for a draw against a side they should have put to the sword.

A succession of managers have encountered the same problem - Guiseley are better on the road than they are at home.

Perhaps their picturesque ground and the pleasant Yorkshire folk are far too welcoming.

Guiseley put a marker down when winger Jonathon Fernandez fired a right-foot shot over the bar in the third minute.

By the ninth minute they were in the lead thanks to a cool spot-kick from leading scorer James Hanson after he had been brought down by the visitors' keeper.

The offender was not shown a card, and he may not have been deemed the last man, but he certainly had no complaints about the award.

Midway through the half, Hanson got a good header on target but was denied by the keeper.

Just before the half-hour, a flowing move involving half of the Guiseley side ended with Matthew Noble getting around the back of the Town defence but he neither crossed nor shot and the relieved shot- stopper caught the ball.

From then on it was a patchy display from the home side and Hednesford enjoyed lots of possession.

Most of it was not threatening but the longer it was allowed the more desperate the fans became.

Their worst fears were realised seven minutes from time when there was a scramble in Guiseley's area and Piotr Skiba was beaten by Ross Dyer, who stabbed the ball over the line.
