Top incentive for Guiseley against Stalybridge
12:10am Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in Guiseley By Ian Whiting
SAME AGAIN: Wayne Brooksby, left, was on target for Guiseley in their 3-0 win at Oxford City last weekend and will hoping for more goals in tonight’s encounter with Stalybridge
A win for Guiseley at home to Stalybridge Celtic tonight would take them back to the Blue Square Bet North summit if leaders Brackley slip up.
The second-placed Lions are just a point behind the table-toppers, who host lowly Histon after losing their 100 per cent start last weekend with a 1-1 draw at Colwyn Bay.
Guiseley have won their last two league games after a blip that followed their six-match winning start.
But Celtic will be no push-overs, having made a decent start themselves which sees them in eighth spot.
Guiseley cannot be overtaken tonight as third-placed Chester FC are in FA Cup action with a home replay against Gainsbor-ough Trinity following last week’s postponement.
That means Bradford Park Avenue’s league game at Chester, scheduled for tomorrow, has been shelved.
The West Riding County Cup starts this week and there are four first round ties involving local clubs tonight with one of them a derby as Farsley host Albion Sports.
Thackley are also at home, to Tadcaster Albion, but Liversedge make the short trip to Garforth Town while Brighouse Town travel to Knaresborough Town.
