It will be a testing Bank Holiday weekend for Guiseley but the Lions will be rampant after their 5-0 victory in midweek.

Steve Kittrick’s men have won three of their four games so far but Tuesday’s at home against Blyth Spartans was their best return.

It took them up to third place in the early table, just behind Hyde FC and Stalybridge Celtic, who are the only two clubs with an unblemished start in the Blue Square Bet North Division.

Guiseley face Colwyn Bay at Nethermoor on Saturday after the Welsh outfit gained promotion through the UniBond Premier Division play-offs last term.

They beat FC United of Manchester - who had knocked out Bradford Park Avenue to reach the final - to earn the step up.

On Monday, Guiseley are up against an old adversary as they head to former Bradford City and Huddersfield Town defender Lee Sinnott’s Altrincham.

Sinnott, or Sinbad as the locals like to call him, moved into management at Farsley Celtic and took the Lions’ nearest neighbours through to the Blue Square Bet Premier before being appointed as Port Vale boss.

Guiseley’s only absentee on Saturday will be striker Joe O’Neill, who suffered a bad cut to the top of his foot in last Saturday’s 1-0 win at Solihull Moors.

The injury required stitches and he has been ruled out for the next seven to ten days by the medical staff.
