Guiseley begin life in the Blue Square North on Saturday when they host Nuneaton Town in their first competitive game since winning the UniBond Premier title on the final day of the regular season last May.

They will go into the clash in high spirits after beating Blue Square Premier outfit Gateshead in their final pre-season friendly last weekend.

The major setback of the summer was the motorbike accident suffered by goalkeeper Jon Worsnop as he left Nethermoor after a training session.

Lions boss Steve Kittrick signed Steven Drench before the Gateshead game and, after playing well, will be first-choice stopper while Worsnop is recuperating from a back operation.
