GUISELEY have parted company with boss Adam Lockwood and his assistant Dave Penney with immediate effect.

The Lions sit 22nd in the National League table after registering just one victory from their opening seven matches this campaign.

After replacing Mark Bower and guiding the Nethermoor club to safety last season, former Doncaster Rovers defender Lockwood has been relieved of his duties following a poor start to the 2017-18 campaign.

A statement on Guiseley's official website said: "The club wishes to place on record its thanks to the managerial team, in particular for their efforts in keeping the club in the National League last season. Guiseley AFC will be making no further comment at this stage."
