GUISELEY complete their preparations for the new season with a home game against Darlington FC on Saturday.

The Quakers play in National League North and will provide Adam Lockwood’s men with their final test before they kick off their league campaign against Ebbsfleet at Nethermoor next Saturday.

It is the Lions’ eighth friendly and Lockwood will be keen to give game time to the men who will feature in his starting line up next week.

The home fans will be hoping that new striker Raul Correia, gets the opportunity to build on the good impression he created when scoring twice in Tuesday night’s 4-1 win at Handsworth Parramore.

Correia has joined on a six-month loan from league One side Blackpool and is the sort of strong and pacy striker who has the potential to become a crowd favourite at Nethermoor.

Lockwood has been keen to add fire power to his attack.

The capture of Correia followed hot on the heels of the signing of Nigerian international Kayode Odejayi and North Ferriby goal poacher Reece Thompson.

Guiseley now look to have a strike force with strength and pace which will be backed up by John Rooney who scored twice from midfield at Handsworth Parramore.

Opponents Darlington, who were managed by Lions assistant boss Dave Penney from 2006-2009, have one familiar face in their line up.

Former Bradford City midfieldman joined them last season after playing one National League game for Guiseley early in the campaign.
