BRADFORD Park Avenue visit Worcester City tomorrow looking to get back to winning ways in National League North.

Mark Bower's men will be encouraged by the fact that their opponents – who currently ground share at Bromsgrove Sporting – have taken just two points from their last five games.

But they do have a striker Avenue will have to keep a close eye on – former West Bromwich, Coventry and Notts County marksman Lee Hughes.

Avenue, who remain in the relegation zone two points from safety, are hoping they can put their two festive defeats by Salford City behind them as they seek to climb the table.

Manager Mark Bower feels that Avenue are entering a key stage of the campaign after a tough run of games against promotion-chasing clubs.

He said: “It’ll be a tough game against Worcester, no doubt about that. They haven’t done so well this season but they are a good, well-organised side and Lee Hughes is still doing the business. But after playing Salford, twice, Kidderminster and Stockport County, we’ve had some tough games against top sides.

“We now go into an important period where we play six or seven games against sides in and around us. It is a massive few weeks for us and it’ll determine our season.”

Wayne Brooksby made his debut for Avenue in the New Year’s Day home loss to Salford and the forward in a player Bower knows all about after managing him at Guiseley.

Brooksby joined on an initial one month loan deal from rivals Harrogate Town.

Bower said: “Wayne is a player we have been looking to bring in for a while, we want him here and we’re hoping to get him permanently, now that the transfer window has opened again I expect a lot more movement.

“We have got him for a month but we’re still working on the deal. It’s thanks to Simon Weaver (manager) and Harrogate Town that we’ve got this temporary arrangement and I thought Wayne had a good debut.

“He showed us a lot of what he’s about and he got into good positions and provided quality deliveries to play his team mates in, it was very positive."
