GUISELEY launch into a tough festive double header against National League leaders Lincoln City looking to build on their recent revival.

The Lions are unbeaten in the last six matches in all competitions but that record is dwarfed by their opponents' sequence of 17 without defeat.

Manager Adam Lockwood sees it as an opportunity to see how much his team have improved over the past month when the sides meet at Nethermoor this afternoon and Sincil Bank on New Year's Day.

Despite the run of a win and three draws from their most recent league matches, Guiseley remain second from bottom and will be aware that the two teams immediately above and below them, North Ferriby United and York City, meet twice over the holiday period.

Speaking after last Saturday's 0-0 draw at Woking – which featured a number of missed chances, including Jake Cassidy hitting the post – Lockwood said of Lincoln: "I think they are a great side who give you a bit more of a test in certain areas and it will definitely be a tough couple of games.

"To get anything out of those matches we need to be right on our game and at the minute we are approaching being on our game. It will be good test to see how far we have come."

Lincoln have been a revelation this season under former Braintree boss Danny Cowley.

They currently head the table by two points and recently beat League One side Oldham 3-2 in the FA Cup to set up a third-round tie at Ipswich.
