GUISELEY return to the scene of their finest hour as they set out on the FA Trophy trail.

Their first round tie takes them back to Chorley where they clinched promotion to the National League with a dramatic 3-2 play-off final win in 2015.

Guiseley came from 2-0 down on that occasion to win 3-2 with goals from Adam Boyes, Liam Dickinson and Nicky Boshell.

That match was played 19 months ago and there has been considerable change at both clubs since then.

This is best reflected in the Guiseley squad where just three of the players who appeared in the last meeting between the sides, Danny Lowe, Jake Lawlor and Adam Boyes are in the current squad.

Both clubs have changed their managers too. Adam Lockwood has replaced Mark Bower at Guiseley while the former Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Jansen has taken over from Gary Flitcroft at Chorley.

Chorley will be keen to exact revenge after securing their place in the first round with a 1-0 victory over Stafford Rangers on Tuesday in their twice postponed third qualifying round tie.

The Lancashire side are currently third in the National League North and have conceded just 14 goals in 20 league games.

Breaking down the Chorley side could be a real test for a Guiseley side that has collected just two points on the road and scored just once in their last seven away games.

Guiseley are hoping that international clearance comes through in time for their new signing Elliot Green to make his debut.

He was signed from Canadian side Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday to fill the void caused by the knee injury sustained by centre back Rob Atkinson in the 1-1 home draw with Chester.

The 6ft 3ins defender started his career with Lincoln City and will provide a valuable aerial presence at the heart of the defence.
