GUISELEY host neighbours Albion Sports in a West Riding County Cup second round derby tie at Nethermoor tonight.

The Lions may be enduring a nightmare season in the National League but they will be huge favourites to beat the Albion Lions.

Kulwinder Sandhu’s men are enjoying their league football and are currently fifth in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division.

Sandhu had a good relationship with former Guiseley manager Mark Bower and that helped him land two of the Lions’ Academy players on loan. Forward Devonte Morton opened his account for Albion at the weekend and Myles Foley is also playing for Sandhu’s side.

Morton scored in a 3-0 win for Albion, while Guiseley slipped to defeat away at promotion-chasing Aldershot Town.

One thing the clubs did have in common on Saturday was that they both had a man sent off. Guiseley’s Jake Lawlor and Albion’s Ferdinand Annor were both shown two yellow cards so both manager’s will be hoping to keep 11 men on the pitch this evening.

Gate prices have been reduced for the derby tie with adults just £5, concessions £3, under-16s £2 and under-12s free if accompanied by a full paying adult.

There is knockout action elsewhere as Campion face their first cup tie of the season when they travel to Harrogate Railway Athletic in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Cup.

James Bicknell’s Division One outfit were fortunate to get a bye straight through to the third round, but they have been handed a tough tie as they head to Premier Division side the Rail.

Meanwhile, Farsley Celtic are back in league action after a win in the FA Trophy first qualifying round at the weekend. The Celts won 2-1 at Mossley and just three days later the sides meet again, at Throstle Nest this time, in the Evo-Stik Division One North.

If Farsley win they could climb into third place – and they would still have games in hand on their rivals for promotion. The Lilywhites are a lowly 18th in the table. However, all four of their wins in the league this term have come away from home.
