BRADFORD Park Avenue wanted their opening sequence of draws to come to an end – but not with a 3-0 defeat in this roses clash against Chorley at Victory Park.

Chorley were good value for a win which leaves Avenue with just three points from their first four games in Vanarama National North.

The Lancashire outfit struck the opening goal in stoppage time just as it looked as though a dour first period would finish goalless.

Sefton Gonzales headed past Dan Eccles, the young keeper starting after first choice Ryan Jones picked up an ankle injury during the warm-up as Avenue's luckless start to the campaign continued.

Deep into the second half, Dale Whitham netted another header after Paul Jarvis had done well to get into the area and set up the chance.

The Magpies rubbed salt in Avenue's wounds with a third goal in the last minute as Will Beesley capped the scoring.

GUISELEY are anchored to the foot of the National League table after suffering a fourth consecutive defeat.

Oli Johnson hit a brace for the Lions at North Ferriby United to pull his side back from two down but the home side netted late to claim a 3-2 win, their first in the top tier of non-League football.

There was some poor defending by Mark Bower's men and that allowed Ferriby to open up a 2-0 lead. Ryan Kendall broke the deadlock in the eighth minute and Danny Emerton added midway through the first half.

Johnson pegged one back thanks to an assist from Jordan Preston just before the half-hour mark to see Guiseley trailing by just one at the break.

There was a positive start to the second half by the Lions and the home side were hanging on to their slender lead until Johnson levelled in the 83rd minute.

Yet heartbreak was just around the corner as, less than five minutes later, an attempted clearance by Marcus Williams struck Ferriby opponent Simon Russell and spun past Lions keeper Dan Atkinson.

FARSLEY CELTIC made it back-to-back wins in Division One North of the Evo-Stik League as James Walshaw bagged a brace in a 3-0 win at Goole AFC.

Walshaw headed in an eighth-minute corner and also nodded in the third goal just before the hour mark after Aiden Savory had slotted in to give the Celts a 2-0 interval lead.

BRIGHOUSE TOWN slumped to a 4-2 defeat at Ossett Town, with late goals from Tom Haigh and Luke Parkin making the final scoreline respectable after the hots had opened up a four-goal lead.

SILSDEN lost 1-0 at home to Charnock Richard in Division One of the Hallmark Security League, Karl Grimshaw netting the game's only goal in the 13th minute.
