Wrexham 3 Guiseley 3

Guiseley brought a three-game losing streak to an end when they travelled to Wrexham’s Racecourse ground in the National League tonight - but were denied victory by an injury-time equaliser.

The Lions ended with ten men but took an early lead when Gavin Rothery accepted the game’s first chance to drill in a low shot from inside the area. Keeper Steve Drench was soon tested and his first save denied Dominic Vose.

The Reds striker Vose showed he was capable of beating Drench as he curled a shot in off the post to equalise after Guiseley left back Ryan Toulson had slipped. Toulson was being severely tested by Vose, who gave the home side a 2-1 half time lead.

Liam Dickinson came on for George Maris in the second half and he had an impact almost immediately as he took a free-kick that hit the bar.

Dickinson levelled in the 71st minute, converting Rothery’s cross, and was involved as the Lions took the lead.

Dickinson’s lay-off sent Adam Boyes away to put his side in front but Rothery was dismissed soon after and the home side rescued a point when Connor Jennings equalised in stoppage time.
