GUISELEY will be looking for some more home comforts as they attempt to extend their unbeaten run in the Vanarama National League to six games when Southport visit Nethermoor tonight.

And one man in the visiting line up who will need no introduction to West Yorkshire soccer fans is the ever-popular former Bradford City captain Gary Jones.

He is one of the old heads in a Southport side which has been bolstered by the acquisition of a number of young loanees.

The Lancashire club are making a swift return to West Yorkshire after playing out a 2-2 draw against FC Halifax Town at The Shay on Saturday. Despite the point they earned, the Sandgrounders remain in the drop zone.

The Lions, who earned a 0-0 draw from their long away trek to Dover Athletic on Saturday, are currently 15th after the initial ten games of their first campaign at the top tier of non-league football.

Guiseley boss Mark Bower won't let Southport's league position temper his judgement. He said: “There are no easy games at all in this league, it’s just so competitive.

“It’s relentless and there’s no game where you think ‘maybe we can rotate things a little bit’ we’ve got to go out there and put in the same work rate we did against Dover.”

Farsley Celtic are another club looking to make the most of home advantage as they host Ossett Town in the Evo Stik Division One North.

The Celts are second bottom after taking just two points from their opening seven games. Their visitors are a healthy ninth in the table.

In the same division, Brighouse Town could improve on their sixth place with a win at Witton Albion.

Albion Sports are seeking a third Northern Counties East Premier Division win on the trot when they head to Pickering Town. Kulwinder Sandhu’s men are fifth after a bright start.

In the North West Counties Premier Division, Silsden host near neighbours Barnoldswick Town in a tasty local derby. Both sides go into the game looking for a lift after suffering defeats at the weekend.
