CONFERENCE North rivals from 2014-15 meet tomorrow on the penultimate Saturday of pre-season as Guiseley visit Bradford Park Avenue.

Horsfall boss Martin Drury and opposite number Mark Bower have both been building their squads during the summer after the Lions earned promotion to the top tier of non-League soccer with a play-off victory at Chorley in May.

Meanwhile, Avenue are heading into their first full season under new owners and the expectations among their fans has risen markedly.

Drury has last season's top scorer Chib Chilaka back in action as he recovers from a slight injury.

The former Bantams forward sat out Avenue's first three friendlies but did get some much-needed match practice in Monday's home game against FC Halifax Town, who are Guiseley's new divisional rivals in the National League.

Even though Drury has drafted in James Walshaw, a fit and firing Chilaka at the start of the coming campaign would be a huge boost to the Bradford club.

Bower is also looking to get extra game time under the belts of the players he hopes will be in the starting line-up when Guiseley begin their first season on the highest step of the non-League ladder at Welling United a fortnight tomorrow.

This friendly is Bower's next to last chance to get his line-up right, while Drury has another three games to tinker with his team before their opening National League North game at home to Nicky Law's Alfreton Town.

Elsewhere, Farsley Celtic end a busy week tonight as they play their third midweek game since hosting Avenue last Saturday.

Neil Parsley's men head to former Avenue skipper Wayne Benn's Hemsworth MW following a goalless draw at Tadcaster Albion on Monday and a 5-1 home defeat to Halifax on Wednesday.

Four of the other local semi-professional sides have friendly fixtures tomorrow but only Silsden are at home, with the Cobbydalers hosting Farsley's Evo-Stik League Division One North rivals Bamber Bridge.

Liversedge travel to play Toolstation Northern Counties East League newcomers Hull United, while Albion Sports make the short trip to Otley Town and Eccleshill United journey to Oxenhope.

West Yorkshire League outfit Oxenhope drew with Thackley, who are from a division higher than the Eagles in the NCE League, last weekend.
