GUISELEY have secured their first off-season acquisition in the shape of experienced defender Adam Lockwood.

The centre-back rejoins the Lions from Oldham Athletic at the start of what is expected to be a busy summer for the club following their promotion to the Vanarama National League.

Guiseley were decimated by defensive injuries for much of the 2014-15 season and boss Mark Bower clearly views this signing as a coup.

"Ever since that day at Chorley (sealing promotion), we've known the quality of players we want to get in for next season," said Bower.

"Adam is certainly of that calibre and we know first-hand just how important a player he can be for us.

"His experience and reading of the game will prove a valuable asset in the Conference next season and we hope to be able to add players of similar quality over the coming weeks."

Lockwood joins a number of other players in committing to the club ahead of their debut season in the fifth tier of the English game.

Bower explained: "Oli Johnson, Jake Lawlor and Liam Dickinson are under contract for next season, while Danny Lowe, Ryan Toulson, Danny Hall and Adam Boyes have all agreed deals so far."
