BRADFORD PARK AVENUE and Vanarama Conference North neighbours GUISELEY were both frustrated by postponements due to the depth of the frost that last week’s sub zero temperatures brought.

Frozen pitches prevented both clubs giving debuts to new signings as relegation-threatened Bradford’s home game against fellow strugglers Gainsborough Trinity and Guiseley’s trip to promotion rivals Chorley were both shelved.

Avenue have signed wide midfielder Craig King from Buxton for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year-old put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Horsfall Stadium until the end of next season.

He began his career with Leicester City but made just one appearance for the Foxes, although he played for Hereford United and Northampton Town on loan. He joined Buxton in 2013.

Assistant Martin Drury said: “It is a very good signing for the football club and one that was only made possible by the backing from the board. We’re pleased to finally have Craig with us and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Guiseley’s new man is striker Liam Dickinson, who they have captured from rivals Stalybridge Celtic.

The 29-year-old also has Football League experience and has scored against the Lions this season.

Lions boss Mark Bower said: “We’re delighted to bring Liam in and feel he will prove a really good addition to our forward line.

“He has plenty of experience at this level and we’re sure he’ll be able to contribute to our promotion push this season.”
