Guiseley had two players in the side when the Conference North team of the season was announced this week.

The Lions did well to reach the play-offs after a poor start, and Gavin Rothery and Steve Drench were honoured by being named in the best 11 of the division.

Goalkeeper Drench thought it had brought up his hat-trick but he later took to social media outlet Twitter to say: “Just been informed that its 4th not 3rd year for me in the team of the year. Swap all four for a promotion.”

A former Lion also made the side as James Walshaw was one of four Altrincham players in the team of the year.

Lee Sinnott’s Alty won promotion via the play-offs, beating Guiseley with a last-gasp extra-time goal in the final.

FC Halifax Town striker Lee Gregory made the Conference Premier Division’s team of the season.

Guiseley have also announced another friendly fixture.

They will face Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division outfit Albion Sports at Farsley on Tuesday July 8. Just four days later they will host Bradford City.
