Guiseley boss Mark Bower admits that victory at home to Colwyn Bay on Saturday won’t come easy.

The Lions clawed their way back into the Conference North play-off places with a 2-0 win over Harrogate Town.

That gave them a three-point cushion over sixth-placed Boston but Bower knows there is plenty more work to do.

He said: “There are three games to go and we have to take seven points to guarantee ourselves a play-off place.

“The best way to go about that is to win tomorrow but it will be a very difficult game against Colwyn – it always is.

“Like us, they like to pass the ball around and play good football.”

Bower added: “I thought initially that 70 points would be enough to get into the play-offs but we already have 71 and still haven’t secured a place.

“We have our destiny in our own hands. If we can keep winning then a place is ours but we can’t look too far ahead.”

Guiseley have picked up a couple of injury doubts for the clash against Frank Sinclair’s side.

Bower said: “We lost Wayne Brooksby and Alex Johnson, both to kicks on the ankle, in the second half against Harrogate.

“We are monitoring those injuries but Danny Forrest and Michael Potts, who came on for them, did very well.”
