Guiseley will be champing at the bit as they look to get back into league action tonight but they face a tough test on their return with a trip to Brackley Town.

The Lions’ last Conference North outing was a 1-0 home defeat to Worcester City over a fortnight ago. They have had four postponements and a defeat to lowly neighbours Eccleshill United in the West Riding County Cup semi-finals since then.

Guiseley’s inactivity has left them in 12th spot while their hosts are 17 points better off in fourth.

However, Mark Bower’s men have five games in hand on Brackley, who were held to a draw by struggling Stalybridge Celtic at the weekend.

Brighouse Town are also looking to close the gap on clubs above them and boost their promotion hopes. Town moved up to third in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division on Saturday with a comfortable 3-1 victory.

They are back at home tonight knowing a win over struggling Parkgate would cut the gap on second-placed Barton Town Old Boys to two points, with Brighouse having two games in hand.

Town will also be seeking revenge over third-from- bottom Parkgate after losing 3-0 there earlier this month.

Farsley had no fixture last weekend but face a big Evo-Stik League Cup quarter-final tie tonight as they head to Skelmersdale United.

The home side are second in the top tier while Farsley are in third spot in Division One North. It will be a good opportunity for the Villagers to test themselves against a side in the division they are aiming to join.
