Guiseley bid to turn one into three

Third-placed Guiseley host Nuneaton Town in the Blue Square Bet North tomorrow night, looking to turn draws into wins.

The Lions have had three draws on the bounce this month, including their titanic battle against second-placed Stalybridge Celtic last weekend.

Guiseley boss Steve Kittrick said: “I thought we were very good on Saturday, even though we were holding on with ten men for the last couple of minutes.”

Right back Jamie Clarke was shown a second yellow card six minutes from time.

Kittrick added: “All we need is to break this little run of draws and turn one point into three. This home game gives us a chance to do that, even though it is a difficult one.”

In Evo-Stik Division One North, Farsley will be looking for a fourth straight win when they make the short journey to Ossett Albion for a West Yorkshire derby.

Farsley remained in fifth spot despite their win over fourth-placed Witton Albion at the weekend. Though Ossett are second-bottom, the two wins they have had have both come at home, so Neil Parsley’s men will take nothing for granted.

Silsden make the trip to Atherton LR in the North West Counties Premier Division unbeaten in their last four league games. Midfielder Andy Lee is doubtful after coming off early in Saturday’s 4-4 draw with Runcorn Linnets due to a groin injury.
