Four more wins should see us safe - Parsley

Having been denied a home fixture because of the weather in midweek, Farsley Celtic have to get back into action with a tough away game as they look for points to ensure Blue Square North survival.

The Celts are lower mid-table so do not look under immediate threat of relegation but boss Neil Parsley is keen for his side to bank the necessary points as soon as possible and has given them a target of four more victories.

"It was a big disappointment to us that we couldn’t get Tuesday’s game on and, after analysing the fixture list, we find ourselves in the middle of a glut of away fixtures," said Parsley.

"By next Saturday, we will have played four of the top six, all away from home, in the space of a couple of weeks.

"It is a tough run and we all know that we have to play everyone home and away but it is the way the fixtures have been re-arranged that have made it such a difficult period for us.

"We will need to be looking for some of the four wins I have highlighted against some of the top sides. We can’t accept that because they are at the other end of the table than us that they are going to win.

"To be far to the lads, they haven’t done that at any point this season. We have performed well against the fancied clubs and the lower teams so, across the board, the lads have given everything."

Striker Lee Ellington pulled a calf muscle in last weekend’s defeat at Alfreton Town and is still rated as doubtful.

Defender Patrece Liburd is yet to begin his four-game suspension because the midweek fixture was postponed.

Parsley added: "We do have Jacko (player-coach Mark Jackson) fit again and Ryan Serrant ready to come back so its two out and two in, if you like."

Is the reporter going to tell us where this away game is? Bearing in mind the club's recent plight, they need all the support they can get at the moment! I would have an important part of the story would have been the opposition!
