FARSLEY Celtic will be looking for a home victory in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division on Saturday as Adam Lakeland’s promotion chasers host basement boys Sutton Coldfield Town.

The Celts climbed back into the top five last weekend after a 2-0 win at 14th-placed Stafford Rangers and, after going three games unbeaten, they are just two points off third spot.

Farsley lost their leading scorer James Walshaw before last Saturday’s victory, the striker having signed for Division One North Scarborough Athletic, but they got Nathan Cartman back from Darlington on a permanent basis.

Cartman enjoyed a loan spell at Throstle Nest earlier this season but returned to the Quakers after regaining his fitness.

He marked his second Celts debut with a tenth-minute strike against Rangers at Marston Road and is looking forward after committing his immediate future to Farsley.

Lakeland will be hoping that Cartman can cover the goals that the prolific Walshaw had plundered in his second spell at the Nest, starting on Saturday against a struggling Royals.

Sutton Coldfield have taken just one point from their last ten league games and are on the back of a six-game losing run.

Their confidence will be low after they were beaten 4-0 at home by leaders Altrincham last weekend.

Brighouse Town will also be at a low ebb following their 3-0 home defeat to fellow Division One strugglers Atherton Collieries last weekend.

Vill Powell’s men were looking to pull away from danger - after a great comeback win at Radcliffe Borough - when they hosted the Colls but a defeat, albeit very unfortunate despite the scoreline, has left them third from bottom.

They head to Seel Park to take on 14th-placed Mossley, knowing that even a win this weekend cannot lift them out of the relegation places, but they trail their lower-mid-table hosts by just seven points and there are still 24 games remaining.
