IT promises to be an interesting day for the clubs at the top end of Evo-Stik Division One North on Saturday as leaders Brighouse Town host fourth-placed Lancaster City, with third-placed Farsley Celtic poised to pounce if their neighbours lose.

Paul Quinn’s Town were this week named Club of the Month for October - their second accolade of the season - but they have drawn three of their last four games.

Following that run, Brighouse go into this weekend's game just one point clear but with three games in hand on their nearest challenger.

However, Lancaster and Farsley are just three points behind with a game in hand.

Town could establish a cushion with a win or could be overtaken by the Dolly Blues should they win by two clear goals.

Farsley could also top the table by 4.45pm on Saturday if they beat lowly Hyde United at Throstle Nest and other results go their way.

The Celts kept the pressure on the leaders with a 3-1 home win in midweek, and they will be seeking another maximum against a Hyde side that are 13 places and ten points worse off.

If Brighouse are the fall Guys rather than the sparklers and slip to a narrow home defeat, Farsley could rocket to the top of the stack and their Plot Night celebrations would go with a bang.
