FARSLEY CELTIC booked their place in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup with a magnificent 3-0 win at Sheffield.
The clubs are on the same rung of the non-league football ladder, with the Celts playing in the Evo-Stik First Division North while Saturday’s hosts, the world’s oldest football club, are in the South section.
But they met a Farsley side who had carried all before them in the first month of the new season and they took that form into September.
James Walshaw netted the only goal of the first half and he doubled Farsley’s advantage when he slotted in a 50th minute penalty.
A late goal from Lewis Nightingale put the icing on the cake to give Farsley a 3-0 win and they are yet to concede this season.
BRIGHOUSE TOWN will not be in the draw for the next round despite having home advantage on Saturday against league rivals Lancaster City. The Lancashire outfit won this particular roses derby by the same 3-0 scoreline.
The Dolly Blues took an early lead when Louis Mayers netted in the eighth minute and Jordan Connerton netted a second-half brace.
