FARSLEY Celtic came back from a dreadful start to earn a point at Mossley and stay above the Lancashire outfit in the Evo-Stik Division One North table.

The Roses clash started badly for the Yorkshire visitors as the home side raced into a 2-0 lead, Doug Carroll pouncing on a loose ball to give the Lilywhites a fourth-minute lead.

That advantage was doubled in just the ninth minute when David Short finished well after latching onto a through ball.

Just two minutes later, the Celts were back in the game after Aaron Hardy and Paul Walker created an opening and Aiden Savory slotted in.

Savory was on target again as he equalised in the 27th minute but, despite four goals inside the opening half-hour, there were no more before the interval.

Farsley edged in front for the first time when skipper Rob O’Brien scored with just over a quarter of an hour remaining, Walker again claiming the assist.

Although Carroll levelled for Mossley, the draw was enough for Neil Parsley’s Celts to reach the 60-point threshold for the season.

Brighouse Town romped to a 3-1 victory at Kendal Town with a strong second-half display.

Paul Quinn’s men trailed 1-0 at the break after Alex Newby broke the deadlock in the 16th minute.

However, Brighouse levelled just seven minutes after the interval when Tom Robinson used his strength to make space and then cheekily chipped the keeper.

Earnest Boafo headed the visitors in front after a 75th-minute corner deflected to him, and Robinson cemented the win after good work from Danny Facey.

Brighouse remain in 14th place following their win, putting them immediately below Bamber Bridge, who they host at the Dual Seal Stadium tonight.
