Evo-Stik Division One North: Farsley Celtic 6 Droylsden 0

THE Bloods suffered another slaughtering in West Yorkshire as Farsley Celtic put them to the sword just a few weeks after Brighouse Town had humbled them.

The Celts put six of the best past Droylsden, who had suffered the ignominy of an 8-0 defeat at the Dual Seal Stadium.

The victory boosted Farsley’s play-off hopes as it lifted them one place in the table, and they are now just three points outside the top five.

Farsley striker Aiden Savory broke the deadlock in the 17th minute, and two goals inside three minutes midway through the first half flattened the Bloods.

Paddy Miller went forward for a free-kick, which Lewis Nightingale delivered, and the centre back’s flicked header found the net, Nightingale adding the third himself.

The contest was well and truly over before the interval after Chris Howarth netted the fourth from close range.

Farsley were awarded a penalty for a handball in the area before the hour mark and, although it looked a harsh decision, Celts skipper Aaron Hardy stepped forward to score from the spot.

Leon Osborne was introduced when Farsley boss Neil Parsley made a triple substitution, and he made an almost immediate impact, wrapping up the scoring in the 70th minute with his first touch.
