FARSLEY will be hoping last week’s inactivity doesn’t affect their momentum when they host Mossley in Evo-Stik Division One North on Saturday.

The Celts have suffered two postponements this season, both away games, and the latest was last Saturday at third-from-bottom Radcliffe Borough.

Neil Parsley’s men were on a roll with five straight victories in the league and League Cup and were big favourites to bank another maximum at Borough.

Tomorrow’s visitors were replaced in the top eight by Brighouse Town last week. Mossley took the lead against Paul Quinn’s Town but were beaten 2-1 at home.

Farsley are still a lowly 17th after a nightmare start to the season but they have been boosted by the decision of Paul Walker, who has soon made himself a crowd favourite at Throstle Nest, to make his move from National League North neighbours Bradford Park Avenue permanent.

Walker scored seven goals in 13 starts in the first two months of a three-month loan period and asked Bradford to release him so that he could commit to Farsley.

Brighouse host Kendal Town today, who coincidentally were the other club that had to postpone Farsley’s visit.

The Lakeland outfit have been dogged by bad weather ever since, so will be glad of an away fixture.

Brighouse are eighth following last weekend’s win at Mossley and are four points outside the play-off places. However, they have games in hand on three of the clubs above them.
